After six months of lockdown, Jammu and Kashmir government has finally decided to resume its tourism services in the Union Territory. They have decided to start their tourism from Gulmarg.
The government is reopening the second phase of Gulmarg Gondola from Kongdoori to Apharwat peak via cable cart from 9 October 2020. The tourism authorities have decided to open it only on Saturdays and Sundays. The first phase of Gulmarg Gondola via cable car is already working from Gulmarg to Kongdoori on daily basis.
At the same time, all necessary protocols have to be taken care of regarding COVID-19 like sanitization of the cabin from time to time, social distancing, temperature checking, mask-wearing, etc.
The tourists are very happy after the opening of the Gulmarg Gondola because, after the lockdown and pandemic, a good and sound vacation is needed and no view is better than the beauty of Gulmarg and Gondola riding.
Built by Pomagalski, Gulmarg Gondola is the second-highest cable car in the world situated at a height of 3,979 meters.
