Uttar Pradesh – Governor Renames Varanasi’s Manduadih Railway Station

The Governor of Uttar Pradesh Anandiben Patel has approved the change of name of Manduadih Railway Station of Varanasi to Banaras Railway Station after No Objection Certificate (NOC) was formally issued from the Ministry of Home Affairs of the Central Government.

Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal tweeted on Wednesday in Hindi and said, “Manduadih Railway Station of Varanasi, the Parliamentary Constituency of PM Narendra Modi, will now be known by the famous name Banaras all over the country. The name of this station was changed to Banaras Railway Station by the Governor of Uttar Pradesh Anandiben Patel, based on the No Objection Certificate (NOC) of the Central Government.”

Previously, in UttarPradesh, the names of Mughalsarai and Allahabad railway stations were changed to Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction and Prayagraj Junction respectively. Moreover, Allahabad city was changed to Prayagraj Rambagh.
